2008-12-16: KVM console
We are very pleased to announce that console access is now provided for all KVM plans. The console is available from the My Servers page and gives access to the virtual keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Not only does this allow alternative access to fix network and firewall issues, it also gives complete control over the boot process. Kernel upgrades can now be performed in confidence, and it is even possible to install multiple operating systems.
We have also added the ability to boot from a CD image. The image can either be one of the ones in our library, or any image publically available via HTTP or FTP. With console access it is now easy to install any supported OS on a KVM VPS.
Some of the operating systems that we have tested, or that are being run by our clients include:
- OpenBSD 4.3 amd64
- OpenBSD 4.4 amd64
- FreeBSD 6.4 amd64
- FreeBSD 7.0 amd64
- Spam Titan V4
