2008-07-10: We are moving
Since the recent problems at the BlueSquare data centre, we have decided it is the best interests of our clients to move to new facilities.
We have already installed equipment at the new data centre and are now running live services from Sirius II in Byfleet. Current clients will be migrated to the new site in the coming week.
Moving data centres is not a decision that we have taken lightly, however there have been a number of factors taken into account. The recent power outage at BlueSquare was simply unacceptable, the situation should have been handled with a manual failover long before any loss of service. We have also had several problems with our immediate provider, and although we have been able resolve them without affecting services this has taken considerable time and expense.
Finally, there has been an ongoing issue with Spamhaus, who blacklisted our entire subnet despite the offending activity being on another user's subnet. This gave us no recourse but to change to a different subnet. Since this would involve changing all IP addresses it is a suitable opportunity to move to a different data centre in which we can offer a better service and expand to meet demand.
For those affected by the Spamhaus blacklisting, we are pleased to report that it has now been lifted, unfortunately we are unable to tell you more as both Spamhaus and our provider have been very quiet about why it happened.
