2008-06-24: Spamhaus Listing
There is currently a Spamhaus blacklist in effect which, unfortunately, affects our own subnet (78.129.164.192/26) and means that some outgoing mail will be bounced back from the destination SMTP server.
We feel it necessary to emphasise that this problem has not originated from Blue Room Hosting or any of our clients. We have become collateral damage in what we believe to be Spamhaus' attempt to pressure our upstream provider into dealing with a malware problem. The blacklisting is far more extensive than required, as can be seen here.
Unfortunately we don't know how long this blacklist will be in effect. Our upstream provider is taking action but we have very little information and don't know how long it will take to resolve. We are extremely concerned about the effect on our customers and are keen to work around the problem as best we can. We will be installing new servers on a different and unaffected subnet soon.
If you are an existing customer affected or concerned by this listing, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
If you are a prospective customer who is otherwise keen to use our services, we understand that a blacklist can be very offputting but we hope it won't deter you completely. Please contact us and we will try to find a suitable solution.
We hope to have further updates soon.
Update 2008-07-10: We are now able to provide "clean" IP addresses. The blacklisting has been resolved, and we have also moved to another facility.
